Describe your company's current technology and solutions
Knowledge, technology and science is growing exponentially; global warming is changing traditional farming. Meanwhile food producers only have 35 production cycles in their life.
Food Producers can’t keep up. That’s why we built AGvisorPRO. It provides instantaneous connectivity between producers and agricultural experts to immediately solve their problems. It ultimately expands the global knowledge pools for rural communities built on a proprietary matching algorithm with ratings and reviews.

AGvisorPRO makes remote work possible for farmers and agricultural experts across Canada. We have implemented optical real time connectivity (ORTC) between farmers and ag experts. We created a cloud-based enterprise grade SaaS platform. Built on a proprietary matching system, AGvisorPRO enables rural communities to take advantage of a much larger pool of expertise. We are the only platform providing critical, client-specific domain knowledge to farmers during the growing seasons. There are a plethora of industry experts to choose from. Interactions between farmer and advisor are rated by both parties. Reviews help farmers select the best-rated advisor for their issue. The platform is browser-based and available on Android and iOS.

o Farmers can one-time purchase answers in real-time from experts that are difficult to find and reach. The platform provides accuracy and independence because both parties rate the interaction.
o No central hub or technology platform exists to connect farmers with industry experts, businesses, government and peers instantaneously.

o This platform enables mid-sized ag industry service providers to increase customer support and reduce costs - their support team can answer from home without having to go to the field.
o AGvisorPRO seamlessly brings numerous technologies (video, text, audio, screen sharing, GPS, and picturing sharing, payment) together into one application, enabling ag industry experts to monetize their knowledge from home instead of travelling to the field.

o Farmers are aging and leaving the industry. Their knowledge is leaving with them. AGvisorPRO builds capacity in the next generation of farmers and industry. The platform transfers comprehensive agriculture knowledge to the next generation in an affordable and convenient way.
o The global population is expected to rise above 9.6 billion by 2050. In response, farms are getting bigger to achieve economies of scale. As size and complexity increases, farmers are forced to produce more with fewer resources and need expert ag advice to stay viable.

Are you aware of any current government challenges or opportunities that would be addressed by using your technology solution? Or a future need you can identify?
Using an algorithm, users are matched based on availability, area of expertise, subject matter and other criteria. Once a match is made, the AGvisor shares knowledge in real-time. Information is gathered from sessions completed to create a repository, which will allow us to answer FAQ through AI. AGvisorPRO is scalable to connect producers and experts globally by displaying local currency, while operating off USD. Topics relevant to local farmers can be added by users.

As the COVID crisis continues, please describe specific opportunities where your technology might support Canadian needs / government needs
The pandemic has exacerbated farmer’s mental health issues, as well as domestic violence and substance addiction, leading to a secondary crisis. According to the University of Guelph’s National Survey of Farmer Mental Health, 35% of producers suffer depression, 45% have high stress, and 58% wrestle with anxiety. Mental health amongst farmers and others in the agri-based product sector is a large and growing issue. Farmers are at high risk for mental health issues and we can support them. We are working with CMHA, through CASPP, to create confidential,1-1 virtual peer support via a white-label of our platform (passed pre-screening). CMHA will provide expertise in mental health, peer support and recovery. This project will support an emerging AgTech platform and pair it with well-trained mental health and addiction peer supporters.
