Describe your company's current technology and solutions
MEDITECH is well poised to partner with Canadian healthcare institutions, helping them tackle today’s greatest challenges, such as COVID-19 as described below, and preparing for future health trends and needs. While the healthcare industry has traditionally utilized a reactionary model for trends and patient care needs, MEDITECH can help organizations of all sizes better prepare for the future, with our modern, robust solutions.

Access to proper, clinically sophisticated healthcare continues to be a limitation for countries across the world. How do we better provide for higher-risk, disadvantaged populations? Data analytics, data sharing, and APIs can help to better meet this need. For at-risk Canandians, including chronic care patients, indigenous populations, and the elderly, the MEDITECH system can be leveraged to target and improve their care.

Are you aware of any current government challenges or opportunities that would be addressed by using your technology solution? Or a future need you can identify?

As the COVID crisis continues, please describe specific opportunities where your technology might support Canadian needs / government needs
As healthcare organizations continue to face the challenges presented by COVID-19, MEDITECH stands committed to providing our customers with solutions and guidance to confront this pandemic together. The MEDITECH EHR is a valuable asset with tools to help screen, isolate, treat, monitor, and report on patients with suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19. And by centralizing real-time patient information across all entry points (e.g. acute, outpatient, ED, continuing care, and home care), clinicians have a single source for current and historical patient data to support informed decision-making.

In order to best serve our customers, MEDITECH established a COVID-19 Task Force that is responsible for reviewing, developing, delivering, supporting, and communicating all software and workflow guidance to assist customers during the pandemic. This cross-divisional group consists of doctors, nurses, and executives and has focused on providing COVID-19 specific guidance, enhanced functionality, and 24/7 support tools, including an online resource page. MEDITECH’s efforts address many aspects of care including: screening, workflows and guidance, virtual visits functionality, analytics, reporting, training, and more.
